Remarkable Humans
In my time working in the animal care profession, I have met some truly remarkable people. Their love, compassion, and dedication to animals are inspiring.
One woman comes to mind. For more than 10 years, she has rescued and fostered cats, many of whom are FIV-positive. She never planned for her journey to focus on these cats; it simply seemed that life brought them to her.
While waiting for the right rescue organization to accept them, she provided her foster cats with everything they deserved—especially love. One of her foster cats became so attached to her that he would light up just hearing her voice.
Even after the cats found a rescue organization and new homes, she continued visiting them, giving them comfort and familiarity as they adjusted to their new lives.
She doesn’t do this for recognition or financial support. She does it because she loves animals and wants to help.
Every day, I come across wonderful people like her who quietly make a difference. They may not ask for recognition, but their compassion deserves to be seen.
