- OUR STORY
Cats have always been part of my story. Long before becoming a feline professional, content creator, author, and blogger, I was simply a little girl raised in a family that deeply loved cats. My mother, an author herself, taught me not only about cats, but also creativity, compassion, and storytelling.
What I never expected was that one cat of my own would completely change my life. My journey as a devoted cat mom sparked a passion for understanding feline behavior and communication, which eventually grew into a career dedicated to feline education, advocacy, and creative storytelling.
Today, I am Dee A. K., a feline professional, content creator, and one of the few certified African Diaspora Animal Trainers. With over 16 years as a cat mom, 13 years volunteering in animal welfare, and 8 years working professionally in the feline field, I create species-appropriate feline content designed to connect, inspire, and strengthen the bond between cats and their humans.
From consulting and podcasting to now blogging and storytelling, my mission is simple: to help people truly understand cats while making cat parents feel supported, empowered, and connected.

Remarkable Humans in Animal Rescue
Every day, I am inspired by ordinary people who rescue animals. This next inspirational story is about a woman whose elderly neighbor passed away, leaving behind three cats, including one with special needs.
This thoughtful and kind-hearted woman quickly took all three cats into her home, bringing the total number of cats in her family to seven. As you can imagine, it was not an easy task to integrate three additional cats with the four cats already living in her home. However, she said there was no way she was going to allow these cats to be sent to a shelter. She even used her own funds to ensure all three cats received proper veterinary care.
Living on a fixed income did not discourage her from caring for a special-needs cat that required additional medical attention and expenses.
Through love, patience, and behavioral and environmental modifications, she successfully integrated all the cats into her home.
It is people like her who inspire and motivate me to do more and to be part of a bigger solution: caring for and loving animals in need.
