The Making of a Double-Layer Cat Cake

Totally Feline ™

At Totally Feline ™, we believe celebrations should be enriching, safe, and thoughtfully designed for feline companions. Creating a homemade cat cake can be a meaningful way to celebrate a birthday, adoption anniversary, or other special milestone—while respecting your cat’s natural dietary preferences and well-being.

---

Ingredients & Supplies

For the Cat Cake Base

  • ½ cup cat pâté (plain, unsalted, and free from onions, garlic, or added seasonings)

  • ¼ cup dry cat kibble

  • Mixing bowl

  • Spoon

  • Coffee grinder or food processor

For the Cat Cake “Icing

  • 1 lickable cat treat pouch (adjust based on desired icing thickness)

  • ¼ cup hard cat treats

  • Optional cat-safe decorations (freeze-dried meat crumbs, crushed kibble, or edible cat grass)

---

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Cake Base using a coffee grinder or food processor, grind the dry kibble into a fine meal. Transfer the ground kibble into a mixing bowl and combine thoroughly with the cat pâté until a soft, moldable consistency is achieved.

Totally Feline ™ Tip:A coffee grinder typically produces a finer texture that binds easily with pâté and does not require baking. If using a food processor and the mixture remains crumbly, a brief time in the oven on very low heat may help bind the ingredients. Always allow the mixture to cool completely before shaping and serving.

Shape the mixture into two layers and gently stack to form a double-layer cake.

---

Step 2: Prepare the Icing finely grind the hard treats using a coffee grinder. Mix the ground treats with the lickable pouch until smooth and spreadable. Evenly ice the cake and decorate as desired with optional cat-safe toppings.
